Services Available

Annually, specific detailed objectives are defined within these goals to conduct research, evaluate existing programs, develop new applications, and produce and distribute the results in hard copy and electronic formats. TCET provides the following specific services to Texas educators:

Research TCET sponsors applied research projects designed to increase understanding of the impact of technology on the teaching and learning process. TCET research topics are collaboratively generated by TCET staff and experts in the field of technology in education.
Development TCET assists educators in developing new applications for existing technologies by creating collaboratives of school district personnel, corporate representatives, and university experts.
Evaluation TCET offers planning and evaluation services that include designing, conducting, and reporting on the evaluation. School administrators, school boards, communities, and state agencies may request these services.
Education and Training TCET offers education and training development and implementation services that assist administrators and teachers plan, implement, and integrate technology effectively into the curriculum.
Grant support TCET assists Texas educators in locating external funding for technology-related projects. TCET provides a listing of foundations and state and federal funding opportunities on TCET's Web pages. TCET also assists educators in the writing of grant proposals, and in organizing grant-writing workshops.
Symposium TCET sponsors an annual 21st Century Symposium on Teaching and Learning for Texas educators, K-12 and higher education, to promote reform.

Focus will continue to be placed on providing products and services to prospective clients on a fee basis. Services can include research studies of technology initiatives, technology application research sponsored by the U.S. DOE, TEA, ESCs, CPDTs, or corporations. Technology audits/evaluations of school/district technology implementation will be included as appropriate, as well as targeted high-leverage education and training programs dealing specifically with the effective use of educational technology.

All of these services are provided at a reduced cost to Texas educators. Fees vary and are based upon project requirements. For further information, contact the Director   (see the Staff Page).
