Introduction Information Links Vendor Links Discussion One key to realizing increased teaching/learning benefits from technology is adequate full-time technical support within the school district. This is especially important in many districts where it is difficult to find enough time for sufficient teacher/staff training in the use of technology.
Even in districts that have been able to provide ample professional development, teachers will still encounter problems and frustrations when trying to use technology. When this happens, they need expert help. Generally, when teachers run into trouble, they require timely assistance (difficulties inevitably arise during presentation of an important lesson or in the middle of critical learning activities). This is one good reason why technical support (user support) is best if it is available at the campus level. Fortunately, the number of districts that have realized this and that have implemented this kind of support infrastructure is growing.
This WEB page is devoted to issues concerning technical support in K-12 education. We intend to make articles available here that address technical support concerns.
