ResourceMatchers

Does your organization have NEEDS? Or do you have RESOURCES to share? The SouthCentral Girls Collaborative Project ResourceMatchers Program will help match needs with resources by sending listserv e-mails outlining specific needs and resources that members of our listserv have submitted. Then the people on our listserv can respond if they can meet a particular need or would like to use a resource that is listed. This program focuses solely on STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

Examples of needs may include: speakers for school events, prizes/giveaways for career day, mentors, locations to take students on fieldtrips, business representatives to serve as mock interviewers, etc.

Examples of resources may include many of the same items: speakers, mentors, fieldtrip locations, funding, etc.

How to Participate

  1. Make sure your organization is registered in the SCGCP Program Guide at URL. All organizations participating in the ResourceMatchers Program must be registered in the Program Guide. Schools should register independently (not as one district, but rather each school).
  2. E-mail your NEED or RESOURCE by e-mailing Martha Peet. Each need or resource should be described in 50-words or less including: description of need or resource, event, location, date, time, Web site links that relate to the request, and any other relevant information. Name and title of contact person with phone and e-mail should be on a separate line at the end of the message. This contact information will not be sent out on the ResourceMatchers e-mail, but will be forwarded if an appropriate response/match is made. This will allow us to track how many people are using the ResourceMatchers Program.
  3. Your request will be sent out in a regular ResourceMatchers e-mail message.
  4. People will reply to Martha Peet if they can fulfill a need, or would like to use one of the resources. She will then forward requests along with contact information to the appropriate parties.
  5. Those parties will contact each other and will work together to fulfill the request.
