Effective assessment of programs

Small group report by Theresa Overall

• On the SGCP Website we could have a place to upload sample evaluations – qualitative, quantitative, anecdotal, validity associated with it. Include remarks about use and effectiveness. (KP Note – maybe the National project could provide this if all collaboratives want.)
• Longitudinal studies – how to do them. Funders want them but don’t tend to fund them. Set up an alumni program for participants. Build camaraderie/ send cards/ keep motivation for participants to keep in touch. Incentives. Arts – Gail Manning
• PhD. students want research projects – match PhD students to research that is needed. Send out a call
• Outcomes based objectives are required for funding. How do you make them for the long term/affective goals: attitudes, self-confidence, leadership
• Parental release is required (photos, research, schools grades) need to be part of registration form
• Need a workshop put on by experts (Dallas Women's Foundation, etc). how to do this
