UNIT ONE - WATER IN OUR COMMUNITIES

Unit One Goal: The students will explore the nature of water in their area and its source and share their findings.

Objective five:
The students will show where precipitation goes when it falls in their local areas.
Time allowance for activities:
3-4 class periods
Materials:
posters or paper, pencils, markers, crayons

1. Discuss where precipitation goes when it falls in the local area. LA 3.4A, 3.3C
2. Have students produce a map or drawing to show area lakes, rivers and streams. SS 3.5D, 3.16F
ART 3.2A, 3.2B
3. Prepare a "radio interview" or newspaper article showing or telling about the area's waterways and the path precipitation takes when it falls. Present it to the class. LA 3.14A, 3.14C, 3.14D
