Activities Curriculum
Connections
1. As a class or in cooperative groups, have students list forms of precipitation including rain, snow, hail, fog, sleet, etc. Have the students tell which one they think occurs most often. LA 3.2A, 3.3C, 3.4A,
2. Have students form a hypothesis regarding the months these forms of precipitation are most likely to occur. SC 3.2A
3. Send an electronic mail message reporting forms of precipitation. Also include the students perception of which type they think occurs most often. Include the months in which they think these types of precipitation occur. When this information is received from the other participants, use it for comparison. Determine if the months are different for the most common type of precipitation occurring, and why that may happen. TA 8A
LA 3.14A, 3.14B, 31.4C, 3.14D 3.12J
SC 3.2D
ART 3.2A, 3.2B
4. In cooperative groups, have the students find pictures in magazines showing appropriate clothing for these types of precipitation. Glue them on poster under appropriate labels. If magazines are not available, encourage the children to draw their pictures. (This may be an activity that will not be beneficial for all children.) LA 3.3C

Evaluation:

Oral class discussions. Students will name at least four types of precipitation, and contrast precipitation patterns in diverse locations. LA 3.4A
