Texas Center for Educational Technology

WebLibrary

The TLI WebLibrary is a product that was developed within the U. S. Department of Education's Preparing Tomorrow's Teachers to use Technology (PT3) initiative and is now a major component of several TCET projects.

The Web Library's primary goal is to create multimedia curricular materials for use within teacher development programs. To accomplish this goal, the Web Library team has developed and refined a format named ADAM that combines video with a timed slide presentation and Web links. ADAM is accessible through the Web and needs only a free downloadable version of Real Player 8 to view.

To add value to the ADAM, these Web-based materials are included in each module:

  • Links featured within ADAM's slides
  • Annotated links grouped by topic
  • Standards addressed within the ADAM including SBEC, TEKS, NETS-T, NETS-S and national standards in core curriculum areas
  • Downloadable versions of the ADAM and slides

Combined, these materials create a unique, flexible learning experience designed for teacher preparation in a variety of subject areas.
