Technology Applications Certification Program
Delivered through the MAT program
In an effort to prepare certified Texas teachers to teach Technology Application courses, the University of North Texas (UNT) offers a State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC)-approved Technology Certification program. These courses are designed to help prepare teachers to sit for SBEC's Technology Applications or Master Technology Teacher certification exams.
The Master's Across Technology (MAT) initiative is offered through the UNT College of Education's Technology & Cognition Department. All courses are part of the Computer Education & Cognitive Systems (CECS). MAT offers the following advantages over other programs.
