I agree, the usual six hours of MS Excel does not transfer to teacher application.
I want training to get teachers excited about using technology. For that to happen, I think they need to see at least one of the following. That technology…. facilitates something teachers already do, saves time now and in the long run, increases student understanding, and is clearly and immediately relevant to the teacher's curriculum and grade level.
For the middle level user we need to answer WHY USE TECHNOLOGY for them first. We need to get away from teaching technology for the sake of the technology and instead use technology as a tool to accomplish better learning outcomes, more efficient and effective paperwork management, and increased critical thinking for the students.
I could go on about this all day. What do you others think? Pam
