Online Professional Development

Texas STARgate meets the needs of professional development for teachers. Our 5 STAR program is designed on SBEC Technology Applications standards. Upon successful completion of the program, teachers receive the 5 STAR Certificate from UNT and TCET.

Consider guiding an online course on Texas STARgate. Guides act as course facilitators. They do not need to know all the material ahead of time? STARgate is a dynamic learning environment where all the answers are not necessarily known in advance.

Guiding courses online is an excellent addition to your resume, and provides valuable real-world experience in distance learning. The Texas Center for Educational Technology (TCET) has created a professional development system to help Texas educators address the Technology Applications TEKS. One component of this system, the 5 STAR certificate addresses the five Technology Application standards required for all beginning teachers by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC).
