One Day Workshop

This is a sample outline for a one day staff development workshop focusing on the Technology Applications and integrating them into instruction. This outline focus on grades K-5 or 6-8.

8:30am-9:00am	Introduction and overview
9:00am-9:30am	Brief introduction/overview of the Technology Applications Handout: K-8 TA TEKS Slideshow: Technology Applications TEKS: Strand Information Slideshow: Technology Applications: Elementary School Level or Slideshow: Technology Applications: Middle School Level include a discussion of grade clusters and benchmark information
9:30am-10:30am	Technology Applications web site scavenger hunt Briefly introduce the main page http://www.tcet.unt.edu/START Handout: printed or electronic versions of TA CED Web Site Scavenger Hunt (Elementary or Middle School) Activity can be completed in small groups.
10:30am-11:30am	Discussion of results of scavenger hunt.
11:30am-12:30pm	Lunch break

1:00pm-3:00pm	Creation of projects In small groups, the teachers should: Decide on a topic. Draft technology-based activities that could be used to learn about the topic. Record the TEKS (both TA and other areas) for the activities. If a TEKS is listed, explicit description of activities aligned with the TEKS should be recorded.
