Course Descriptions
Apple Learning Professional Development
  • Courses include AppleWorks, Internet, Webmaker, Microsoft Office, QuickTime, Hyperstudio, technology integration, and Final Cut Pro and iMovie workshops
  • Self-paced courses
  • Each course consists of an interactive tutorial, a hands-on course project, and a forum for discussion with fellow students and with the course mentor
  • Courses are sold in individual course licenses, single-user annual course licenses or one of four levels of multi-user licenses

THE Institute: Professional Development
  • Courses on MS Office, HyperStudio, multimedia, web design, and technology integration

  • Most courses range from $79-$179

Virtual Assistive Technology University
  • Seven courses on assistive technology, such as web accessibility and universally designed instruction, leading to an Assistive Technology Certificate
  • Offered in collaboration between the Spurwink Institute and the University of Southern Maine, an NCATE-accredited institution
  • Each course lasts 7 weeks and includes 14 sessions
  • Participate in electronic discussions with colleagues and the instructors, online readings and reactions, interactive projects with a selected course participant or group of participants, and application of assistive technology tools and strategies to your local school or district
  • Each course is $632 for three academic credits or $500 for 4.5 continuing education credits.
