Participants will learn to use ClarisWorks applications:
- word processor (tabs, cut/paste, fonts/sizes, underline/print)
- database (operate modes, create database)
- slide show (set up, organize, add graphics and sound, create QuickTime movies)
- calendar (create, enter data, print, save)
- mail merge (create document, perform merge, print letters/envelopes)
- spreadsheet (create grid, change columns/rows, mark circular references, create
graphs/charts)
- banner (format, position texts, print, assemble)
- greeting card (set up, create message and graphic, print)
Participants will learn to explore the Internet:
search, choose best engine, browse, explore newsgroups, find projects, and save information
on disks.
Participants will learn to develop HyperStudio stacks:
create cards, change colors, add text, add buttons and sound, add transitions, create
story board, save, and print.
Participants will learn to use the Project ABCD format:
explore the three worlds, create clusters, compose list of objectives, add performance
assessments, create activities, add links and correlations, create interdisciplinary
connections, and create real world connections.
(Project ABCD Curriculum Framework was developed by the Texas Association for
Supervision and Curriculum Development. Teachers from about 80 consortium member districts
worked for more than five years to develop the framework and align it to national and
state standards.)
